Dr Gary Aaron, medical director of the Australian Menopause Centre will be embarking on a climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro with his son Joel, his friend Mike and Mike’s son Ollie to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. 1 out of 8 women in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and every dollar raised will assist researchers in their efforts to find improved treatment outcomes and eventually find a cure.

Mount Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania and its summit is the highest point in Africa rising to 5,895 metres above sea level. The climbing party will be leaving on 18th December 2016 from Sydney and arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport on the 19th of December. The climb will begin officially on the 20th of December. We are expecting the summit push to begin at midnight on Christmas day with everyone reaching the summit after approximately 8 hours of climbing.
